TacMed Basic- FIRST RESPONDER
This is a four hour course that offers basic medical information and tactics utilized by first responders across the Nation. Attendees will be provided with a better understanding of how to utilize both manufactured and improvised items to accomplish the same goal, surviving a critical incident. This is a scenario-based course with very little “class room” time designed to give first responders a first look at tactical medicine or elaborate and practice skills already learned. Each course is tailored to the overall skill set of the class to ensure all attendees walk away with more than they came with.

- Patient assessment
- Threat assessment
- use/ effectiveness of body worn armor
- Tourniquet applications
- Wound packing
- Chest seals
- Moving patients
- Use of cover and concealment
- Hot, warm, cold zones
- Transporting LEO to hospital
- Preparing casualty collection points
Items to bring:
- Daily worn duty gear (vest & gun belt)
- The trauma kit you carry
- Long pants
- Closed toe shoes
- Sunglasses
- Water
- Pen and paper
- Willingness to learn

All training supplies needed for the class will be provided. We will not be using your purchased or issued medical equipment for training, however you should bring what you have so we can ensure you are provided with the same or similar products to train with.
